Autumn/Winter Wishes

So Autumn/Winter is just round the corner and as depressing that may sound to everyone, I'm actually soooo excited for it. I would say that Spring/Summer clothing really isn’t for me, all I basically wear is various different printed shirts tucked into various different high waisted denim shorts. This year I have definitely tried to be more adventurous but still doesn't seem to work out as planned so A/W will forever be my season.

In February when the A/W Fashion Week's started I was overly excited therefore I tried my best to keep up with all the shows. I have chosen five of many collections that really stood out to me. These were Chloe, Balenciaga, Alexander Wang, Burberry and Christopher Kane.
I have looked at these collections over and over again because I just couldn’t get over how amazing they were. Christopher Kane’s oversized coats to his velvet dresses, Balenciaga’s clean cut clothing with a buckle/safety pin looking feature and Alexander Wang’s oversized coats that had a mixture of Leather, Suede and Mohair. Burberry’s rubber skirts and signature trench coats to Chloe’s electric blue coats and capes, leather dungaree skirt and chain-link overdress.

Here are a few of my handpicked favourites from each Designer

Thrifty Shiii-rt

So I haven't blogged for agessss, which I keep on telling myself to up my game on it. This shirt is one of my favourites but I probably say this about every one I own. I got this shirt at a charity shop like the majority of the shirts I own.

Now everyone must have a pair of vintage Levi shorts in there draws BUT why is it that everywhere now has cut them SUPER short into flippin batty riders?! I have not got the butt or the legs for them and I've seen some people wear these who don't either.... it's not pretty.
That is why when I found these shorts in a Vintage store in Norwich I was over the moon. So if you own a pair of batty riders, don't be offended if I judge you just a tad (:

Lets go to Ha-Wa-Hee

As the weather has been beautiful today I decided to get out 'The Hawaiin Shirt'.
This post is just going to be focussed all on that Hawaiin shirt really. The reason why I love this shirt so much is because I've been looking for a decent Hawaiin shirt for AGES then I found this bad boi in a charity shop and instantly fell in love. It just hit all the spots, bright and wonderful but is subtle still.
I need to calm myself down before I get abit over excited over a shirt.

Question: Do Hawaain people ACTUALLY wear Hawaiin shirts, or is it just what English people wear when they go Hawaii?

While I was getting dressed, I was listening to Paramore's new album (which is amazing) and I think that really inspired this outfit alot today. If I had a pair of black Odd Future old skool Vans, they would just make the outfit 10 times better, well, I'm afraid I don't have a pair. But instead I went for second best and wore my Creepers!

Poeme Obsession

Poeme Obsession

Poeme Obsession by georgiaxsmyth featuring prada

These beautiful Prada sunglasses are my summer must have's, unfortunately I can't afford them. So I am just going to appreciate them from afar. I would say the top ivory coloured glasses are my absolute favourite out of all of these and I would wear these with a minimal, white, shorts/trouser suit and some killer heels. But a girl can only dream.

Bank Holiday Clashing

So this was taken on bank holiday Monday (yes it has taken me flippin ages to post this) in London near Carnaby St, before there I went to the Erwin Blumenfield exhibition at Somerset House and IT WAS SO GOOD, if you don't know who he is, his a Fashion Photographer who's mostly known for his work in the 1940s-60s. So I was desperate to go. I would've taken photos but I we weren't allowed to, so I strongly recommend giving it a visit or just google him, that might be easier.
And I got stopped by some bloggers to take a photo of my outfit which I found a massive compliment, they haven't put it up yet but when they do I'll put up the link.
I'd like to pre-apologise for my horrendous posing, it will improve I promise, as you can tell I no model!

This outfit is one big texture/pattern clash and I don't know if that's a good thing (I hope it is). I've basically mixed mesh, floral, velvet and bleached denim all into one. I think the floral shirt makes this abit more feminine and brighter just for the fact that the velvet and mesh really darkens it.
My jacket was a dark denim jacket I found in a charity shop and decided to do some DIY acid wash, I learnt how to do it from youtube videos and literally found them soooo funny. Theres this guy called theiceman289 (his hilarious) who does alot of DIY clothing tutorials and you can find the denim acid one here.

Post-Lana Del Rey

YES, I went to see Lana Del Rey last night and IT WAS AMAZING.

For those who  know me they know I have the biggest obsession/crush on Lana, she is basically the definition of perfection in my honest opinion. And I'd like to clarify that she looks just as amazing in person.
As Lana Del Rey is one of my style icons, some of my style is definitely inspired by her (especially my hair colour). I'd say her style is based around the 60's era, so I decided that I might aswell get my 60's shift dress out and give it a wear.

Because of my body shape, straight shaped/ Shift dresses don't flatter me at all, so I added this Topshop belt to give it a waist. This vintage dress was discovered in a shop in Camden a few years ago, I will admit as much as I love this dress I just don't wear it enough.
This shirt under has beautiful white embroidery on the top half of the sleeves and the chest of the shirt, its hard to see but when you notice it, it's not like any white shirt. It was found in a random second hand shop in Devon.
Trust me, as scummy as some second hand shops can look, if you rummage enough, you may find something amazing. Personally, I think the fun of vintage shopping is the fact that you have to RUMMAGE and look through EVERYTHING, so if your an impatient shopper then try it out, you might enjoy it!
